Postgraduate Admissions to UK Universities

A UK taught master’s degree is typically one year full-time — shorter than the two-year norm in many other countries — combining coursework with a final dissertation or project. Research master’s degrees (MRes) and some specialist courses run longer. How Postgraduate Applications Work

Unlike undergraduate admissions, postgraduate applications in the UK go directly to each university, not through UCAS. Every university runs its own postgraduate admissions process and deadlines, which is exactly why having one point of contact matters — you’re not tracking a dozen different systems and deadlines yourself. We submit your application through our partner network once it’s complete.

Entry Requirements

• Academic qualifications — a relevant bachelor’s degree, generally graded at UK 2:1 equivalent or above for competitive courses (roughly a GPA of 3.0+ on a 4.0 scale, though exact equivalencies depend on your country’s grading system and the specific course).
• English language — typically IELTS 6.5–7.0 overall, higher for some professional courses (Law, Journalism) — check the specific course, since postgraduate thresholds are usually higher than undergraduate.
• Supporting documents — transcripts, CV, a personal statement explaining your motivation for the specific course, and usually two academic or professional references. Some courses (particularly Business/MBA-type programmes) also ask for relevant work experience.

5. Offer, often conditional on your final undergraduate result if you’re still studying.
